“I went to Hell and back.”
The Doctor is back on Earth, thrown into the recent past with no sign of his TARDIS. But time moves quickly, and soon he has demons to confront. This is what happened after. After all the monsters were defeated and all the sacrifices were made, this is what was left behind. This is the story of how the Doctor fell in love. “Granny, did you used to travel in time?” The Time War rages on, louder and crueller than ever before. A quiet grudge becomes mutually-assured destruction, and the safe-house is no longer safe. But none of that matters. Today is supposed to be the happiest day of the Doctor’s life, and after everything he has suffered, Robin is determined to make sure that nothing goes wrong. There’s just one minor setback. It’s been a long engagement. And now, Robin McKnight is seventy-five years old. This logbook was recovered from Station X, and details observations of subjects carried out over the last fifty solar cycles. No background details available. If you believe you have the necessary entitlements to view these observations, please contact the head office of the Planet Makers. “We think that stories end when we leave them, but really it’s us leaving that gets them started.” Once upon a time, a king ruled over an ancient kingdom of insurmountable strength. The kingdom was beautiful, but the king was a terrible man who grew mad and treacherous with the power granted to him. The longer the king lived, the uglier his kingdom started to become. Far out in the wilderness, where none of the king’s men dared to venture, lived a wise old woman and her trusted comrades. The woman despaired at the state of what was once her home, but could do nothing to stop the evil king. That was until she discovered something impossible that changed the way she saw her world, and all the other worlds beyond. So the wise old woman and her most trusted friend began a journey across peculiar and twisted paths like none they had ever seen, a journey which would lead them to the end of the universe – in the hope that at last, once and for all, they could stop the evil king… …and save Gallifrey. |
Janine Rivers' final four episodes as head-writer of The Eighth Doctor Adventures tell the story of what happened after the climatic events of the fourth series finale, The Day We Died. Returning to Earth in Till Death Us Do Part, the Doctor is reunited with his old companion, Robin McKnight, for one final adventure. He also meets Cioné, a woman who is important in his life for a very different reason... The final two episodes do not feature the Eighth Doctor, but conclude some of The Eighth Doctor Adventures' longest-running story arcs, as well as looking a long way into Doctor Who's future. Ever After is fully-scored by an original soundtrack, also composed by Janine Rivers. |
